Telephone System, from 1 September 2008

The telephone system consists of the following components:

Cell phone preparation in the information electronics control module 1 (J794).

The Telephone Baseplate (R126) is installed in the center console. The telephone is operated either by the MMI Infotainment or by the cellular telephone (R54).

Microphones for Microphone Unit (in front roof module) (R164) are integrated in the Front Interior Light (W1). One microphone is directly connected to the information electronics control module 1 (J794).

The connection for the antenna is located on the telephone base plate (R126).

Bluetooth hands-free calling information electronics control module 1.

The information electronics control module 1. is installed with the microphone unit in front roof module. and is part of the hands-free setup. Bluetooth connect the cell phone.

The Bluetooth antenna (R152) is integrated in the information electronics control module 1.

Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS5051).





Notes on Bluetooth Technology

A standardized radio connection system is used to transmit data between information electronics control module 1 and telephone handset (R37)/cellular telephone (R54) - Bluetooth Technology.

An additional transmitter/receiver unit is installed in the information electronics control module 1. A separate Bluetooth antenna (R152) combines the information electronics control module 1 and telephone baseplate (R126)/cellular telephone, so that the telephone handset/cellular telephone can be wireless.

The range of the radio wave connection is approximately 10 meters.
