Telematics System






Telematics

Telephone/Telematics Control Module

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

Removing

- Remove the left front seat.

- Fold back the floor covering.

- Disengage cover of electronics box and open the box - arrows -.





Telephone/Telematics control module (J526) and emergency battery (Telematics) (A16) are only wedged into the electronics box.

- Pry telephone/Telematics control module - 1 - out of electronics box - 2 - in direction of arrow.





- Disconnect all harness connectors at telephone/Telematics control module.

- Remove emergency battery (Telematics).

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Auxiliary Speaker (Telematics)

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

Removing

- Remove the lower B-pillar trim on the front passenger side.

- Disconnect harness connectors and remove trim.

- Twist open the mount - 1 - on the Telematics auxiliary speaker (R91) - 2 - in - direction of arrow - and remove the Telematics auxiliary speaker - 2 -.





Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Telematics Control Head

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

Removing

- Remove the Front Interior Light (W1).

- Disconnect electrical connection - 1 - and unclip it from the retainer - 2 -.





- On the front side of front interior light, unclip the Telematics Control Head (E264) from retainer - arrow 2 - and swivel the telematics control head upward out of front interior light - arrow 1 -.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
