Air Filter Assembly Overview





1 - Rubber Grommet

2 - Lower Air Filter Housing

• Clean any salt, dirt and leaves from the lower air filter housing.

• Important: Check for water drain for dirt; clean if necessary.

• Removing the lower air filter housing, refer to => [ Removing the Lower Air Filter Housing ].

3 - Bolt

• For the flap on the intake air switch over valve.

4 - Air Filter Element

• Always use a original equipment air filter element

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Filter Element ] Service and Repair.

• Clean the snow screen also, if equipped.

5 - Upper Air Filter Housing

• Clean any salt, dirt and leaves from the upper air filter housing.

6 - O-ring

• Replace if damaged.

7 - Screws, 1.5 Nm

8 - Hose Clamp

9 - Air Guide Hose

• To the throttle valve control module.

10 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor

• MAF sensor with Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor, removing and installing. Refer to => [ Mass Air Flow Sensor ] Service and Repair.

11 - Bolt, 1.5 Nm

12 - Intake Air Switch Over Valve (N335)

13 - Intake Air Switch Over Valve Flap

14 - Air Duct

• Clean any dirt and leaves from the air duct.

15 - Air Duct

• To the lock carrier.

• clean any dirt and leaves from the air duct.

16 - Air Duct

• To the lock carrier.

• clean any dirt and leaves from the air duct.

17 - Bolt

18 - Bushing

19 - Rubber Grommet

20 - Bushing

21 - Water Drain Hose

• Clean any dirt and leaves from the water drain hose.

Removing the Lower Air Filter Housing





Remove the right wheel housing liner.

Remove the air guide hose - arrow - from the bottom of the lower air filter housing.
