Front Body Acceleration Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

Removing

• The front body acceleration sensors are installed on the right and left strut mounts.

- Remove the seal - 1 -.





- Remove the plenum chamber covers - 2 and 3 -.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.





- Remove the electrical connector - 2 - from the bracket - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - and the body acceleration sensor - 4 -.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

- Install the body acceleration sensor so the locking device - arrow A - engages in the brace in the body - arrow B -.





- Tighten the bolt - arrow - for the body acceleration sensor - 4 -. Refer to - item 3 - in => [ Mounting Bracket, Upper Control Arms and Air Spring Damper Assembly Overview ] Mounting Bracket, Upper Control Arms and Air Spring Damper Assembly Overview.





- Install the connector - 2 - to the bracket - 3 -.

- Connect the electrical connector - 1 -.

- Check the body acceleration signal. Refer to => [ Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking Acceleration Signal ] Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
