Power Sun Shade Housing

Removing

- Remove door trim => [ Rear Door Trim ]. Rear Door Trim

- To remove sun shade, the sun shade must be brought into service mode. To do this, roll out the shade in the rear door via the switch in roof module.

- Roll sun shade in rear door in again via switch in roof module, while doing this the switch in roof module must remain pressed for a minimum of 5 seconds.





- Disconnect harness connector - 4 - to sun shade control module.

- Connect harness connector - 4 - to sun shade control module. Service mode has been activated by doing this.

- Press switch in roof module. The sun shade rolls out approximately 150 mm.





- Unscrew window regulator motor.

- Slide the door window down.

- Using a small flat screwdriver, unclip retaining clips - 2 - on the top side between sun shade - 4 - and retaining clips - 2 -.

- Pull shafts - 5 - out of mounts - 3 -. When doing this, hold sun shade firmly in place so that it is not drawn in.





- A second technician is needed for the next two steps.

- Hold cover - 1 - open and let the sun shade - 2 - roll in until there is only a small portion left.

- Drive in the shafts via switch in roof module, while doing this the switch in roof module must remain pressed for a minimum of 5 seconds.





- Disconnect harness connector - 4 - to sun shade control module.





- Remove bolts - 2 - (Qty. 5).

- Carefully pull out sun shade housing - 1 - upward.

Installing





- Hold cover - 1 - open.

- Pull sun shade - 2 - slightly out of sun shade housing.





- Slide sun shade housing - 1 - on to door frame, when doing this the shafts in sun shade housing - 1 - must be guided in and shaft heads must be visible.

• Sun shade must not pull itself into sun shade housing.

- Tighten bolts - 2 - (Qty. 5) of sun shade housing. 3 Nm.





- Connect harness connector - 4 - to sun shade control module.

- Connect harness connector to window regulator motor.

- A second technician is needed for the next two steps.

- Open cover of sun shade housing again and pull out sun shade slightly.

- Roll out shafts via the switch in roof module (approximately 150 mm).

- Pull out sun shade far enough until it can be engaged on shafts.





- Clip in retaining clips - 2 - (Qty. 2).

- Roll in the sun shade via switch in roof module.

- Install window regulator motor.

- Close window.

The electric sun shade must be adapted anew, proceed as follows to do so.

- Drive out sun shade completely via switch in roof module and continue pressing for at least another 6 seconds. This starts an automatic initialization routine.
