November 19, 2008. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 24 number 06-01 dated September 22, 2006 for reasons listed below.

Vehicle Information

01 MIL on DTC's P2015, 2020

Condition

MIL on with DTC P2015 and/or P2020 in the ECM memory.

Technical Background

Possible cause is a vacuum leak at the vacuum supply hose fitting for the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve N316. The vacuum supply hose fitting is located underneath the center of the intake manifold.

Production Solution

Improved hose clamp N 102 105 01, which is larger in diameter to prevent damage to vacuum hose when the clamp is crimped.

Service

- Remove intake manifold and check vacuum hose and hose clamp underneath the intake manifold at the supply fitting.

- If hose is cut or damaged replace vacuum hose # 079 133 773 and install new hose clamp # N 102 105 01.

- Only use VAG1275 or equivalent hose clamp pliers to crimp hose clamp.

- Verify that the new hose clamp did not cut or damage vacuum hose when crimped.

- Replace intake manifold gaskets and reinstall intake manifold.

- Check and erase DTC's in both ECM's and set readiness codes.
