Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A

- Remove rear seat bench: Vehicles through 10.04, vehicles from 11.04.

NOTE: The left and right side airbags can only be switched on together. It is not possible to switch side airbags on individually.

There is one harness connector at left and right by the "C-pillar".
- Cut through connector cable ties.







- Connect harness connectors - 1 - for side airbags.
- Connect harness connectors - 1 - in upholstery cut-out of rear seat bench.
- Remove rear wheelhousing trim.
- Connect harness connector to crash sensors at C-pillar.
- Install rear wheelhousing trim.
- Install rear seat bench.
- Remove deactivated side airbag sticker from rear door frame.
- Remove remaining adhesive from door frame with cleaning solution.
- Change air bag control module coding to coding with rear side airbag.

- Fill out registration card and deliver card to the appropriate distributor or importer for registration. Place sheet 3 of the registration card in the owner information packet for the customer.
