Fuel Filter, Fuel System with Return Line

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Reservoir

Removing

Observe safety precautions. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Fuel Supply System.

Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Fuel Supply System.

- Remove right cover - arrows - next to fuel tank.





- Place drip tray under the fuel filter.

CAUTION!
Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening system, place clean rags around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

- Disconnect fuel lines - 1 - and - 3 - by pressing the release buttons.





- Remove bolt - 2 -.

- Remove fuel filter.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Installation position:

• The direction of flow is marked on filter housing with arrows.

• The arrow markings - 1 - and - 2 - must be across from each other.





Distance between fuel return line at fuel filter and fuel tank.





• Front wheel drive: - a - = 6 to 10 mm.

• All wheel drive: - a - = 3 to 7 mm.
