HID Headlamps Assembly Overview

• Adjust the headlamps after performing any work that could have affected their adjustment.





1 Bolt

• Ignore

• 6 Nm

2 Spacer

• Ignore

3 Headlamp Housing

• Removing and installing after replacing components at front end, refer to => [ Headlamp, after Replacing Components at Front End ] Headlamp, after Replacing Components at Front End

• Removing and installing when reusing current headlamp, refer to => [ Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp ] Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp

• The left headlamp reflector adjustment solenoid (N395)/ (N396), left swivel module position sensor (G474)/right swivel module position sensor (G475), left adaptive cornering lamp motor (V318)/right adaptive cornering lamp motor (V319) cannot be replaced individually if faulty.

4 Gasket

• Replace if damaged

5 Power Output Stage

• Vehicles with AFS only

• Left headlamp power output stage (J667)

• Right headlamp power output stage (J668)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Power Output Stages ] Headlamp Power Output Stages

6 Bolt

• 1 Nm

7 Light Bulb

Audi A6

• For daytime running lights

• Left daytime running lamp (L174)

• Right daytime running lamp (L175)

• 12 V, 21 W (H21W)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ Daytime Running Lamps, Replacing Bulbs ] Daytime Running Lamps, Replacing Bulbs

Audi S6

• For fog lamp

• Left front fog lamp (L22)

• Right front fog lamp (L23)

• H7 - 12V, 55 W (W5W - white)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ Fog Lamp Bulb, Audi S6 and Audi RS 6 ] Service and Repair

8 Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor

• Left headlamp beam adjustment motor (V48)

• Right headlamp beam adjustment motor (V49)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motors ] Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motors

10 Lamp Socket

• Audi A6 only

• For light bulb for daytime running lights

11 Light Bulb for Parking Lamp

• Audi A6 only

• Left parking lamp (M1)

• Right parking lamp (M3)

• Glass socket lamp 12 V, 5 W (W5W - blue)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ Parking Lamps M1/M3, Replacing Bulbs ] Parking Lamps M1/M3, Replacing Bulbs

12 Lamp Socket

• Audi A6 only

• For light bulb for parking lamp

13 Housing Cover

• For light bulb for turn signal

16 Turn Signal Indicator Bulb

• Left front turn signal lamp (M5)

• Right front turn signal lamp (M7)

• 12V, 21 W (PY21W silver glass)

17 Gas-Discharge Lamp

• Left HID headlamp bulb (L13)

• Right HID headlamp bulb (L14)

• 35 W (D2S)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ HID Headlamp Bulbs ] HID Headlamp Bulbs

18 Gasket

• Replace if damaged

19 HID Headlamp Control Module

• Left HID headlamp control module (J343)

• Right HID headlamp control module (J344)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ HID Lamp Control Module ] HID Lamp Control Module

20 Bolt

• 1 Nm

21 Adjusting Element

• For adjustment of headlamp to bumper contour

• Quantity: 3

22 Bolt

• 8 Nm
