Digital Sound System Control Module (MMI)

The digital sound system control module (J525) is located behind the luggage compartment left side trim.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective cap for Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

- If control module is replaced, select replacement function for appropriate control module in guided fault-finding routine.

Use the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) to do so.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the ignition key.

Removing

- Remove the luggage compartment left side trim..

- Remove the bracket and radio (R) and move it to the side.

- Loosen the bracket - 3 - and the nuts - 1 -, - 2 - and - 4 - and move the bracket with the digital sound system control module - 3 - into the luggage compartment.





- Disconnect the MOST-BUS connector - 4 - on the digital sound system control module - 1 -.





- Attach the protective cap for cable connector - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Disconnect the connectors - 2 - and - 3 - on the digital sound system control module - 1 -.





- Remove the screws - arrows - and remove the digital sound system control module - 1 - from the bracket - 5 -.

Installing

- Install in reverse order.
