Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair






Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)/Camshaft Position Sensor 2 (G163)

Removing






- Remove the front engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Covers ] Service and Repair.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - on cylinder bank 1.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - and the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (G40).

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - on cylinder bank 2.






- Remove the bolt - arrow - and CMP sensor 2 (G163).

Installing

- Replace the O-ring and lubricate it with clean engine oil.

- Press the camshaft position sensor in carefully by hand.

- Tighten the camshaft position sensor and connect the electrical connector.

- Install in reverse order of removal.
