Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensors (KS) 1 (G61)/Knock Sensors (KS) 2 (G66)

Removing






- Remove the supercharger.

- Remove the affected intake manifold lower section. Refer to => [ Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the electrical connector - 3 - from the bracket.






- Disconnect the connector - 2 - on cylinder bank 1.

• Ignore - 1 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - on cylinder bank 2.






• Ignore - 1 and 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - from KS 1 or the bolt - 2 - from KS 2 and then remove the knock sensor.






Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Ignition Overview ] Service and Repair.

- Install the lower intake manifold section. Refer to => [ Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail ] Service and Repair.

- Install the supercharger.
