Check Control Message - "Brake Lights"

Situation:
The Check Control message "Brake Lights" is displayed sporadically even though the vehicle's brake light circuit is in working order.
Cause:
There is a delay before the K3 relief relay makes contact.
Vehicles Affected:
5 Series (E34) - vehicles produced 5/95 through 7/95.
Correction:
In case of a customer complaint, replace the K3 relief relay in the E-Box (refer to the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual).
