Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

RESISTANCE TEST
- Disconnect the throttle potentiometer electrical connector.
- Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 3 of the throttle potentiometer.

Resistance = approx. 4.6 K ohms If not replace the throttle potentiometer.

- Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 2 of the potentiometer while moving the throttle valve between closed and wide open throttle.

Resistance varies between 1 K ohms at closed throttle and 4 K ohms at wide open throttle. If not, replace the throttle potentiometer.
