Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor

The fuel tank pressure sensor input to the ECM, is provided by the pressure transducer mounted on the liquid vapor separator. The input is used by the ECM to check the fuel storage and purge system for leaks as part of the OBD II emission requirements. The pressure sensor receives its power supply from the ECM and produces a varying voltage input to the ECM, representing the amount of pressure in the fuel tank.

Monitoring the purge system for leaks is an output control function of the ECM. If a malfunction occurs, the MS41.1 EQM will discontinue the purge system monitoring and the fault will be stored in memory.
