Power Window Control Module: Service and Repair

Power-Window Module Replacement
Electronic system for power-window control is a power-window module screwed onto corresponding motor.
Power-window module can be removed separately.
If possible, lower power window.
Disconnect battery earth lead.
Remove door panelling. Pull off plastic sheet.





- Unscrew bolts.




- Clean sealing surface of O-ring.
- Replace O-ring.







CAUTION: Ensure correct position of O-ring.





- Inspect power windows for corrosion at parts indicated with arrows.





- Clean-sealing surface of power-window module and inspect for damage.




- Install power-window module.
- Check function.
- Initialize window regulators.




Troubleshooting information:
- Remove drive motor and clamp in a vice at pole pipe.
- For function checks, drive unit can be supplied for a brief period with 12 V at both terminals indicated with an arrow.







CAUTION: Danger of shorting, Danger of clamping on driving pinion.
