Control Module: Service and Repair

Removing and Installing/Replacing EH Control Unit

Note: E34 shown, E32 similar.




The control unit for an EH transmission is located on the right A pillar.
- Remove glovebox.
- Unscrew cover for radio speaker.
- Pull off electric leads for speaker




- Pull off plug (1) on control unit pushing back spring clip (2) for this purpose.
Caution!
Plug may only be disconnected or connected after turning off the ignition.




- Unscrew holders for insulation sheet.
- Pull off insulation sheet.
- Only loosen screws (3..6).




- Turn and take Out the control unit downward.
