Complaint E:
Replacement EWS II Control Modules/keys do not function (electrically/mechanically).

Cause E:
The following cause is possible:





^ When a complete set of keys (A) or a complete one-key system (B) is ordered, a new code based on the respective chassis number is assigned to the EWS II Control Module and the keys that are to be used with it. This set of keys (or complete one-key system) can therefore only be used for this particular vehicle. It therefore is not possible to stock these parts in dealer inventory to be used for repairs that might arise in the future.

Correction E:
If a set of keys is ordered for a vehicle and not installed, but put into inventory, fewer (or no) replacement keys can be ordered for that vehicle in the future because they are assigned to the "inventoried" set of keys by the coding. In this case, a complete set of keys (A) or a complete one-key system (B) must be ordered.

EWS II parts sets are ordered for a specific vehicle and must be installed in that vehicle (not put into inventory for possible installation into another vehicle).

The attempted installation of an EWS II parts set into any vehicle other than that for which it was ordered (and any resulting troubleshooting time) is therefore not covered under warranty.
