Rear


Removing and installing or replacing left or right rear barrel spring

Remove wheel, refer to Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
Removing output shaft from final drive, refer to Axle Shaft Assembly, Constant Velocity Type.
Unfasten bracket for brake line on semi-trailing arm.





Support trailing arm with a lifter (1).
Unscrew stabilizer on control arm and rear axle carrier.





Unfasten screw (1) and lower lifter.
Press wheel suspension down and pull coil spring out to one side. Avoid damage to brake line.

Installation:
Tightening Torque, refer to Specifications.





Installation:
Check lower and upper spring rings for damage, replace if necessary.
Coat upper spring ring with a lubricant.
Check for correct seating of spring rings.

Note:
On the "rough-road package" version, the spring pad top is 21.5 mm thick.
