Replacing Master Relay (M60, M62)


Switch off ignition.







Unfasten screws.
Remove cover from electronics.
Tightening Torque, refer to Technical Data 12 90 4AZ.

Specifications







M52, M60, M62:
Remove relay (2).


NOTE: If relay allocation does not coincide with pattern:


The relay with a line cross section greater than 2.5 sq mm is the DME master relay.
If in doubt, remove relay from socket and check whether there is an interrupt in the desired function.







M51:
Remove relay (1).

Installation:
Interrogate fault memory of DME/DDE control unit, check fault messages stored in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory.







Notes On Troubleshooting:
If the starter engine turns the engine when switched on but the engine fails to fire, check the engine fuses (2). If these fuses are defective, replace all fuses together with the bracket.
The cause for fuses melting should be sought for. For additional instructions, refer to interrogating fault memory with the DIS-Tester.
