Idle Actuator







The idle control valve is used during the MSR function of traction control to reduce the engine's drag torque effect on the vehicle to maintain stability. When the traction control module's programming parameters call for MSR, the control module signals the engine control module to open the idle control valve slightly for drag torque reduction.

The signal is a switched high/low signal from the ASC module to the engine control module.
