Replacing rubber mounts for control arm

Caution:
Always replace left and right-hand rubber mounts and use mounts of same make (shown on mounts).
Removing bracket for control arm, refer to Control Arm Bushing Bracket.





Press rubber mount out of bracket using special tool 31 2 130.





Installation note:
Check installation location.
Arrow on rubber mount points to mark (1) on bracket.
Remove grease from bracket and rubber mount.





Apply rubber mount on bevelled side of bracket and press in with special tool 31 2 130.





Note: Check for uniform protrusion (B) of rubber mount.





Check rubber mounts - does not apply to M3:
Vehicle in "Normal Position", refer to Alignment, Adjustments. Service and Repair
Measure gap (A) with a feeler gauge.
Specified value: A = 0.8 � 0.5 mm.
If measurement yields a deviation from nominal value - replace rubber mount.
