Replacing Oil Pump Housing
Replacing Oil Pump Housing
Remove and install or replace torque converter. Torque Convertor
Arrangement of oil pump housing.
Bolt transmission to special tool 24 0 181 with 24 0 18 and 24 0 185 and secure to assembly jig 00 1 490.
Set transmission upright.
To make it easier to locate threaded bores during assembly, mark out installation position of oil pump housing and transfer these marks to the new oil pump housing.
Unscrew bolts.
Caution: Watch out for seals (1).
Apply Special Tool 24 1 180 and clamp tight on converter support shaft.
The oil pump housing is pressed out by turning spindle (1) in.
Lift out oil pump housing.
Remove Special Tool 24 1 180.
Calculate thickness of shim required: If the oil pump housing is replaced or other work is carried out which may affect axial clearance, it must be checked and corrected if necessary.
Insert existing spacer disc (1), needle bearing (2), and thrust washer (3) with collar facing the needle bearing.
Installation: Note O-ring.
Installation: Note rectangular rings.
Coat sealing ring and piston rings with oil.
Carefully insert oil supply unit. Turn from side to side until the discs engage in the splines of the freewheel.
Secure oil supply unit with two screws, fitted diametrically opposite to one another.
Tightening torque: Mechanical Specifications
Note: If correctly assembled, turbine shaft protrudes from stator shaft by A = approx. 62 mm.
Secure special tool 24 0 012 (clamp) from special tool 24 0 010 on stator shaft.
Press special tool 24 0 011 (dial gauge holder) with dial gauge from special tool 24 0 010 over input shaft spline and secure with retaining screw.
Determine axial clearance by pulling on input shaft.
Nominal clearance = 0.10 - 0.30 mm
If value is not as specified, fit a thinner or thicker space as required.
Fit new seals (1) to all screws and tighten down.
