Removing and Installing




Removing And Installing Fuel Tank


CAUTION!
After installation of fuel tank / before engine is started for first time:
Check electrical resistance between ground tape (tank filler pipe) and wheel hub.
Measuring value approx. 0.6 Ohms
Fill fuel tank with at least 5 liters of fuel.








Draw the fuel out of the fuel tank.

Right Tank Section:
Disconnect plug connection (1) for fuel pump.
Disconnect plug connection (2) for fuel level sensor.







Left Tank Section:
Remove plug connection for fuel level sensor.







Left Tank Section:
Disconnect fuel return hose (1).
Tank compensating hose (2)







Disconnect fuel hose with special tool 13 3 010 and remove supply line (5).

Installation:
Replace hose clips.







Disconnect fuel hose with special tool 13 3 010 and remove return line (6).

Installation:
Replace hose clips.







Unfasten screws (1... 6) and remove heat baffle plate.







Remove complete propeller shaft,







Unfasten Bowden cable on handbrake lever,







Press Bowden cables out of clips and pull through retaining brackets.







Release hose clamp, remove filler hose.







Remove tank mounting screws, lower and remove tank.

Installation:
Use washers between the retaining strap at right outside and cross member (rear take-up) at front.







Disconnect tank vent pipe (1). Unclip vent pipe to carbon canister.







Disconnect tank vent pipe (2).
Disconnect filler vent pipe (3).
Remove fuel tank.
