Ti Signal

Ti Signal

The "Ti" signal is one of the inputs required by the TCM to calculate engine load and determine the shift characteristics. The "Ti" signal is provided by the DME control unit.

The "Ti" is a modulated square wave signal. The frequency is proportional to engine rpm. The pulse width and duty cycle vary to reflect the injection quantity (load).

NOTE: Later model vehicles equipped with CAN bus do not require a dedicated Ti signal wire since the engine load value is provided via CAN bus.
