Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing Or Replacing Air-Mass Flow Sensor (M52TU)
- Turn off ignition.



- Disconnect plug connection (1) on air-mass flow sensor.
- Detach vacuum line (2) from intake hose.
- Release hose clip (3).
- Unlock clamps on intake filter housing and remove intake hose with air-mass flow sensor.




Installation:
- Check gasket (1) between air-mass flow sensor and air cleaner upper section for damage, replace if damaged.
- To facilitate joint between air cleaner and throttle assembly, coat gasket with acid-free grease.




Installation:
- Only reinstall mass air flow sensor with undamaged lattice frame.
- Read out fault memory of DME control module, check stored fault messages, rectify faults, cancel fault memory.
