Replacing Control Unit (Digital Motor Electronics) (M52, M60, M62)


CAUTION!
Follow instructions for removing and installing electronic control units.
Refer to General Information on disconnecting Battery.
Switch off ignition.







Unfasten screws.
Tightening torque: 4.4 Nm
Remove cover from control unit box.







Unfasten plug connection (1).
Remove control unit (2).
For subsequent procedure, refer to instructions in DIS tester.
Code control unit.
Program control unit.








Read out fault memory of control unit of Digital Motor Electronics (DME).
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Now clear the fault memory.
