Removing And Installing/Replacing Both Control Units (Digital Motor Electronics) (M73)


CAUTION!
Note instructions for removal and installation of electronic control unit!
Refer to General Data on disconnecting Battery.
Switch off ignition.







Unscrew bolts.
Tightening torque, refer to Technical Data 12 14 4AZ.

Specifications

Remove cover from control unit box.







Control unit (1) (DME 1), disconnect plug connection and remove control unit from bracket.
Control unit (2) (DME 2): disconnect plug connection and remove control unit from bracket.
Control unit (3) for Electronic Transmission Control (EGS)
Control unit (4) for Electronic Engine Power Control (EPC)
For subsequent procedure during exchange of control units, refer to DIS.
