Main Relay (Computer/Fuel System): Service and Repair

Replacing Main Relay (For Digital Motor Electronics) (M73)

Switch off ignition.







Unscrew bolts.
Replace cover on electronics box.
Tightening torque: 4.4 Nm.







Remove relay (1) for DME 1.
Remove relay (2) for DME 2.


NOTE: The relays with a lead cross section greater than 2.5 sq mm are the DME master relays. If in doubt, extract relays one after another and establish whether desired function has been interrupted.


Relay (3) is starter motor inhibit relay

Interrogate fault memory of control unit for Digital Motor Electronics (DME), check error messages in memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
