Removing And Installing/Replacing Air-mass Flow Sensor (S62)


NOTE:
The removal and installation of the left air-mass flow sensor is described in the following text. The same procedure applies to the removal and installation of the right air-mass flow sensor.
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

Remove and install intake hose.







Disconnect plug connection (1) from air-mass flow sensor.
Open clips (2).
Remove air-mass flow sensor (3).







Installation:
Check O-ring (1) between air-mass flow sensor and intake filter housing for damage and replace if necessary.
To aid installation, apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to O-ring (1).

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Now clear the fault memory.
