INFORMATION
Before removing the VANOS assemblies, it is necessary to place them in the assembly mode with a diagnostic device (DIS/GT1). Damage to the exhaust valves will occur if the engine crankshaft-to-camshaft mechanical timing is not 100% correct, or the engine mechanical tolerances have been compromised or intentionally modified.
