Replacing Fuel Injectors

- Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit. Switch off Ignition




- Removing cover from injection valves




- Disconnect plug connection from VANOS solenoid valve.
- Unclip plug connections from Lambda oxygen sensors.
- Lift connector strip off injection valves and place to one side





CAUTION: Fuel in fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3-5 bar). Catch and dispose of fuel as it escapes.

- Using special tool 16 1 050 unfasten locking unit on fuel inlet and return line and remove fuel hoses.

Installation Note: Check O-ring in fuel hose and sealing face of fuel lines for damage, replacing components if necessary.

- Coat O-ring with anti-friction agent before fitting the fuel hose.




- Unscrew bolts.
- Remove vacuum hose from pressure regulator.
- Pull Injection tube and Injection valves upwards to remove.




- Lift out retainer and remove injection valve.

Installation Note: Check rings, replacing them if necessary.

- For assembly, coat O-rings (nothing else) with Vaseline or transmission oil SAE 90.
- Interrogate fault memory of DME-control unit, check faults stored in memory, rectify faults then cancel fault memory.
