Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Engine Control Module Interfaces - ADS II (Early)

ASC - ENGINE CONTROL MODULE INTERFACES S-EML / S-ASC / S-MSR
BOSCH With separate ADS CONTROL MODULE

The Automatic Slip Control (ASC) control module uses the interfaces with the engine control module to:

^ Request Ignition timing control
^ Request Idle valve control
^ Inform the engine control module of throttle valve regulation

Three different circuits are used called S-ASC, S-MSR and S-EML for the control module signaling. These designations are only names for the three different signals. It is the combination of these signals which the engine control module receives that determine what type of regulation is carried out.

The table above outlines the signal status and action carried out during an ASC controlled regulation.

The S-ASC, S-MSR and S-EML are switched HIGH/LOW signals from the ASC control
