Structural Brace: Service and Repair

51 71 482 Removing and installing/replacing left or right tension strut (reinforcement on spare wheel recess)

IMPORTANT:
- Vehicles must not be driven without tension struts.
- Driving without tension struts may damage the vehicle body.
- Tension strut screws must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120.







Release screws (1 and 2) and remove tension strut (3).

Installation:
Replace screws (1 and 2).

- Insert screws (1).
- Tighten down screws (1) to specified torque and then to angle of rotation.

Note: Jointing torque
59 Nm

Note: Torque angle
90°

- Insert screw (2).
- Tighten down screw (2) to specified torque.
7AZ Tension strut to rear axle
M8 24 Nm
