Replacing Left or Right Wheel Bearing on Rear Axle Shaft

Remove output shaft.
Remove brake disk.
Remove ABS sensor.





Screw special tool 33 2 116 onto drive flange with 5 wheel studs (1).

Drive out drive flange with special tool 33 4 201 / 203.





If necessary, attach special tool 00 7 500 to groove of bearing inner race and remove bearing inner race with special tool 331 306.

Note: Refer also to Detaching bearing inner race, refer to Wheel Hub, Service and Repair.





Installation:
Pull in drive flange using special tool 33 4 041 / 042 / 043 / 045 / 048.





Lift out circlip (1).

Installation:
Replace expanded or damaged retaining ring (1).
Ensure correct seating,





Remove wheel bearing with special tool 33 4 031 / 041 / 042 / 043 / 048.

Caution: Do not reuse old wheel bearing!





Draw in new wheel bearing (1) with special tool 33 4 041 / 042 / 043 / 047 / 049.
