Replacing Flexible Disk


Caution!
There will no longer be an end stop once the steering spindle has been separated from the steering gear. The steering wheel can be turned without restriction.
In order to avoid damaging contact ring in steering column:
Move steering wheel to straight-ahead position
Remove ignition key.





If applicable, unscrew and remove splash guard.
Remove both clamping screws from flexible disk.
Press flexible disk off steering gear and detach from lower section of steering spindle.

Installation:
Move steering gear to straight-ahead position (markings on cap (1) and housing (2) must match up).
Universal joint/coupling to steering gear/steering spindle 24 Nm
Note: Replace Clamping Screw
