SUBJECT
DME Fault Code 27CD

MODEL
E53, E60, E65, E66 with N62 from 09/03 up to 04/04

SITUATION
"Service Engine Soon" is displayed in CD or, "Check Engine" light is illuminated in the cluster. Fault Code 27CD (DMTL-Current fluctuation during minor leak test) is stored in DME.

CAUSE
DME software error

PROCEDURE
On a customer complaint basis only, reprogram DME with the current Progman version. The improved DME software was introduced since DIS CD V37.0 and Progman V11.0.

Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
