- E38 vehicles up to 5-97 production
- E39 vehicles up to 9-97 production





A single wire, uni-directional, serial data signal is sent to the IKE or Low Instrument Cluster (vehicle dependent) to provide status of selector lever position, active Manual driving program and fault display data. This information is also then sent over the I and or K bus.

98 Model year E38/E39 vehicle AGS systems communicated directly to the instrument cluster via CAN. The CAN interface provides a mass of intercommunication between systems.
