Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

18 32 040 Removing and installing catalytic exhaust gas converter with centre muffler (N62)

Special tools required:
^ 312 220

Warning:
Scalding hazard!
Only perform these tasks after exhaust system has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Unlock and disconnect plug connection of lambda oxygen sensors
^ Unclip cable of oxygen sensors

If necessary, support exhaust system with special tool 312 220.





Release screws (1).
Installation:
6AZ Rear muffler to intermediate muffler
M8 30 Nm

Note: The same procedure applies to the opposite side.

Unscrew nuts.

Remove catalytic exhaust gas converters with centre muffler.
