E66 (7 Series) Equipped with N73 Engine
All vehicles produced from 9/2002 up to 3/2005.
* E53 (X5) Equipped with N62 4.4i and 4.8i Engines
All vehicles produced from 10/2003 up to 2/2005.*

Complaint

The customer complains that the engine intermittently does not accelerate even though the accelerator pedal is firmly depressed.

Cause

DME calibrations causing a high sensitivity to the accelerator and brake pedal dual application.

Measure

E66 (7 Series) Equipped with N73 Engine:
On a customer complaint basis only reprogram the vehicle using CIP 16.0 or higher.
* E53 (X5) all vehicles equipped with N62 4.4i and 4.8i Engines:
Reprogram DME and GKE with P41.2 or higher*
