Lowering Front Axle Support
31 11 506 Lowering front axle supportNecessary preliminary tasks:
^ Secure engine in installation position.
^ Unscrew and remove splash guard.
^ Remove reinforcement plate.
^ Remove lower section of steering spindle.
^ Release retaining bracket for stabilizer.
^ Remove left and right engine mounts from front axle support.
Remove control arm bracket from engine support on left and right.
Installation: Tightening torque 56 Nm.
Damaged threads
Support front axle support centrally in area (A) with garage jack.
Remove front axle support from engine support on left and right.
Lower front axle support.
Installation:
First tighten down both rear screws (1).
Tightening torque:
M12 10.9 Replace screws 100 Nm.
M10 9.8 Replace screws 47 Nm.
M12 8.8 Replace screws 77 Nm.
M10 8.8 Replace screws 42 Nm.
M12 12.9 Replace screws 105 Nm.
