NAD Was Found to be Faulty when Performing SI B84 22 05 (Reactivation of BMW Assist Services)

E53 (X5) from 10/03 to 2/06 production with Premium Package (ZPP) or BMW Assist (SA 639)
E60, E61 (5 Series) from 7/03 to 2/06 production
E63, E64 (6 Series) from 11/03 to 2/06 production
E65, E66 (7 Series) from 3/05 to 3/06 production
E83 (X3) from 9/03 to 2/06 production with Premium Package (ZPP) or BMW Assist (SA 639)
E85 (Z4) from 10/03 to 2/06 production with Premium Package (ZPP) or BMW Assist (SA 639)
E90, E91 (3 Series) from 3/05 to 2/06 production with Premium Package (ZPP) or BMW Assist (SA 639)
SITUATION
^ E46, E53, E83 and E85 vehicles: "BMW Assist Inactive" is displayed on the Board Monitor (BM), on the radio, or as a check control message after you simultaneously press the Roadside Assistance "Wrench" button and the mayday "SOS" button for longer than 8 seconds.
^ E60, E61, E63, E64, E65, E66, E90 and E91 vehicles: Unable to read MIN, MDN and ESN during Reactivation.
CAUSE
The Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) within the Network Access Device (NAD) may have been corrupted.
PROCEDURE FOR I/K-BUS VEHICLES (E.G., E46, E53, E83 AND E85):
Check the integrity of the NAD by using the procedure outlined in SI B84 24 06.
PROCEDURE FOR MOST-BUS VEHICLES (E.G., E60, E61, E63, E64, E65, E66, E90, AND E91):
1. Check the integrity of the NAD by using the procedure outlined in SI B84 25 06.
2. After recovering the NAD or prior to replacing the TCU, check the Vehicle Order (VO) for "+TELD". If "+TELD" is in the vehicle order, retrofit "Activate/Deactivate Telematics" via Progman.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
This repair is covered on vehicles up to 6 years/100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
