SUBJECT
CD Mode is Inoperative and 'TR' is Shown in the Board Monitor Display
MODEL
E46 (3 Series) with option 609
From 09/2002 up to 06/2005
SITUATION
'TR' is shown in the radio display and the CD mode is inactive when inserting a music CD.
CAUSE
Software issue in the widescreen board monitor housing with CD drive (P/N 65 52 6 907 718).
At the end of the last track the CD drive goes automatically back to track # 1. If the CD is removed before this process is finished the CD drive adopts an undefined status. Because of this the CD mode is no longer active.
NOTE:
After sleep mode the CD mode resumes normal operation.
CORRECTION
After reproducing the customer complaint, install an improved widescreen board monitor housing with CD drive.
