II. Procedure to Enter A Vehicle Order Manually on E46

Note:
This procedure will code the Instrument Cluster (KOMBI) with outdated data!

Therefore, after performing this procedure, it is mandatory to recode the Instrument Cluster (KOMBI) with Progman by using the E46 E Series.

1. Connect the car to Progman by using a diagnostic head.

2. Start a new session on Progman, select the diagnostic head and name the session.





3. On the E Series selection screen, select: "5 Series" and "E34".





4. Select "Encoding ZCS/VO".








5. Select the green arrow in the lower right corner until you see the Selection screen.





6. Select "7 E46 Series" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





7. Select "1 Recoding" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





8. Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





9. Select "10 KOMBI" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





10. Answer the question "Select. correct?" with "YES" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





11. Select "2 Recode control unit" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





12. Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





13. Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





14. Answer the question "Should KOMBI be assigned rigidly to the car?" with "Yes"





15. Check the displayed chassis number and click on: "No" when the VIN is correct. "Yes" when the VIN is NOT correct. In case you select "Yes" you have to type in the correct 7 digit VIN on the next screen. Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner





16. Answer the question "Enter vehicle order?" with "Yes".





17. Answer the question "File with vehicle order already imported with a diskette or via the network?" with "No".

Note:
The VO import function is not supported in this part of Progman.

Note:
For all inputs in the next steps of this procedure you have to use the on-screen keyboard!





18. Enter the 4 digit model code. Then click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





19. Enter the 4 digit time criteria. Then click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





20. Enter the 4 digit paint code. Then click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





21. Enter the 4 digit upholstery code. Then click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.

Note:
When the time criterion is equal to or higher than 0306, you will get an error message. This part of Progman does not work with the latest coding data for the E46. If the vehicle has time criterion 0306 or higher, contact the Technical Hotline for further support.





22. Select "3 Add Feature". Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





23. Select "4 SA" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





24. Enter the first 3 digit option code. Click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.

Proceed with step 23 and 24 until all option codes are entered.

25. Does the VO contain E- Word?

Yes No

Go to Step 26 Go to Step 28





26. Select "2 E-Wort". Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





27. Enter the 4 digit E-Wort. Click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.

Proceed with step 26 and 27 until all E-Wort are entered.

28. Does the VO contains HO-Wort?

Yes No

Go to Step 29 Go to Step 31





29. Select "3 HO-Wort". Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





30. Enter the 4 digit HO-Wort. Click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.

Proceed with step 29 and 30 until all HO-Wort are entered.





31. Select "2 Terminate and check entry". Click on "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





32. Answer the question "Start coding?" with "Yes" and click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.





33. The Instrument Cluster (KOMBI) will now be coded with the entered Vehicle Order.





34. Verify the Vehicle Order data displayed on the screen with the Vehicle Order that you received in the XML file. Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner.

Note:
To see the complete Vehicle Order, use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen.





35. Click on the green arrow in the lower right corner and follow the instruction, on the screen.

36. End the session.

37. Connect the car to Progman by using a diagnostic head.

38. Start a new session on Progman, select the diagnostic head and name the session.

39. On the E Series selection screen select: "3 Series" and "E46" The vehicle should now be identified correctly as a E46.

40. The Instrument Cluster (KOMBI) is coded with outdated data. Therefore, it is mandatory to code the KOMBI with Progman by using the E46 E Series.
