ALL with BMW ASSIST produced from 1/04 to 11/04
SITUATION
The customer may complain that BMW ASSIST is inoperative.
CAUSE
Telematics Control Unit (TCU) mobile identification number (MIN) was inadvertently deactivated.
PROCEDURE
On a customer complaint basis only:
1. Check the VIN list shown.
2. If the vehicle is not on the VIN list continue standard troubleshooting.
3. If the vehicle is included on the VIN list then replace the TCU.
4. Complete the TCU Registration Form shown.
5. Perform a test call to verify the call center is receiving the proper vehicle information.
