SUBJECT
EGS is Not Identified in Diagnosis
MODEL
E83 with automatic transmissions produced after 9/2005 to present.
SITUATION
When performing a diagnostic short test, after automatic vehicle identification, the EGS is skipped over and not recognized. Individual identification of the EGS is also not possible.
CAUSE
DIS / GT1 diagnostic software error with DIS versions 43.x, 44 and 45.
CORRECTION
The DIS software will be corrected in a future release.
In the meantime perform a "Manual Identification" of the vehicle as produced 3/2005. This will allow the EGS to be properly identified and further diagnosis performed.
