51 21 300 - Removing and installing or replacing window cavity cover strip on outside of left or right front door

Important!
Observe procedure [1][2]51 21 ... Removing Weather Strip With Special Tool 00 9 324 At Front or Rear for using special tool 00 9 324.

The "Instructions on fitting window guide seals Removal and Replacement" serve as the basis for this repair instruction and must be observed without fail.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove door mirror [1][2]51 16 000 Removing and Installing or Replacing Mirror on Left or Right Front Door





Important!
If reusing the existing window cavity cover strip (1), make sure it is not bent.

Lever out window cavity cover strip (1) with special tool 00 9 324 (starting at A-pillar).

Feed window cavity cover strip (1) at rear out of guide (2) and remove.

Installation Note:
Moisten window cavity cover strip (1) prior to fitting with approved anti-friction agent Removal and Replacement.

Window cavity cover strip (1) must be flush at front to door edge.





Version with Chromeline:

Installation Note:
If chrome strip (2) has been pulled out of cover strip (3), both parts must be reassembled.

Feed guide (1) of chrome strip (2) into groove (3) of window cavity cover strip (4).

Replacement:

Window cavity cover strip (4) and chrome strip (2) are replaced completely.
