Replacing Crankshaft Pulse Generator

12 14 521 - Replacing crankshaft pulse generator (S85)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
- Switch off ignition
- If necessary, remove underbody protection.

Installation location:
On transmission housing at bottom right.





Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Release screw.

Tightening torque 12 14 1AZ 12 14 Electronic Shift Units or Control Units.

Withdraw pulse generator (2) from transmission housing.

Installation:
Replace sealing ring.

Replace screw.





Installation:
Now clear the fault memory.
