N63 - Diagnosis for DMTL Fault Code 190302
MODEL
F01, F02 with the N63 engine produced up to September 2009
SITUATION
The Service Engine Soon lamp is on, and the following fault code is stored in the DME:
Fault 190302 - DMTL, minor leak: leak greater than 0.5 mm
CAUSE
The diagnostic of the DME software is too sensitive.
A fault indicates that a minor leak is stored; however, the car passes the test module and no leaks are found.
CORRECTION
Follow the recommended ISTA test plan: AT1214_DI_DMTL-Diagnosis module for tank leak (DMTL).
If no leaks are found, program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.36.1 or later.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
