Mechatronics of the Automatic Transmission

Mechatronics Of The Automatic Transmission

The Mechatronics of the 6 HP automatic transmission family consists essentially of the electronic module and the hydraulic unit.

Electronics module
The electronics module is divided mainly into the following components:
- EGS control unit
- Voltage supply for solenoid valves and electronic pressure control valves
- Gearbox sensor system:
- Sensor for transmission input speed
- Sensor for the transmission output speed
- Gearbox oil temperature sensor
- Transmission connector for connection to vehicle wiring harness

EGS control unit
The EGS on the 6 HP gearbox is fitted as part of the gearbox and no longer as a separate control unit in the electronics box. It evaluates the sensors electronically and directly activates the actuators of the hydraulic unit. A temperature sensor of the EGS processor additionally monitors the gearbox oil temperature.

Hydraulic unit
The hydraulic unit is similar to the modules used so far in gearboxes. It is also designed as holder for the electronic module.
